Computer Club at the Tech Museum in San Jose. This year we will focus on newspaper production and photography.
Lab focus for the fall!
Our focus in lab right now will be in many areas. The first I want to discuss is keyboarding. They have all taken tests and continue to work on lessons. We will do this at least every other week and I will be testing again in the second quarter. Those who are struggling will be given extra time in the lab. The goal for 3-4 grades is 20-25 words per minute. The goal for 5-6 grades is 25-40 WPM. Please have students use the keyboarding section of their grade level on this site to practice at home. Another thing we are focusing on is creating documents online with Microsoft 365 and Google Docs. Please try both! We will be working almost every week to become proficient at doing either one in the classroom, lab, and at home. The final piece is internet safety. We have spent twice as much time on it in the lab this year. Always be aware, keep personal information off the internet, and never share a password with anyone. If there is a problem, then let an adult or teacher know immediately. Coming in the future are mission based Minecraft for grades 4-6 and presentation applications for all grade levels. We also will work on the Hour of Code!
