 January-February

 2nd Grade

We will continue to work on letter writing.   Students will be using Brain POP to investigate our different topics from Science. Sound and rocks will be our next focus.   They will do this whole class and independently.   We will use Envision Math games to support the classroom and many internet sites focusing on Math.  Our other sites will focus on Health, Art, Language Arts, and Music.   Students will also begin to use Iphoto and learn the basics of photo editing.  Our lessons continue in Ten Thumbs Typing and they are progressing nicely.

3rd Grade

Our big project will be completing our Powerpoints on Scout Island.   Students have already began to make their slides with pictures and words.  We will continue this and then move on to adding animations and put them in presentation mode.   Our next project will be to create a research project on the Solar System.  We will learn how to find information and images on the web and then insert them into a word processing program. Students are really improving their typing with Ten Thumbs, Dance Mat, and gaming for keyboarding.   Our internet sites will focus on the solar system, health, music, math, and art.

4th Grade

We will be working hard to complete our Rocks and Minerals power points.  We will back that up by working on some sites that support this scientific study.  The students will get some new math challenges in Manga High, and we will concentrate on math activities this quarter.  They will be exposed to animation, music and art online.  This grade is the only one that does Ten Thumbs Typing, Typing Web, and Dance Mat Typing in our work on keyboarding.

5th Grade

These next two months will see 5th grade completing a report on Google Apps documents. They will also work on editing photos in Iphoto and creating a slideshow.  In word I will show them the project gallery and how to edit a template.  We will focus on sites in math, elements, and compounds.  There will be tests taken in typing web and some exploration of typing games.  Lastly we will explore creating websites and blogs.

6th Grade

Students will be working on many sites that involve the study of energy.  They will continue to work on presentations of their camp experience.  They will get to choose whether to do this in Power Point or Google Presentations.  We will be taking tests in Typing Web.  6th graders will begin working on resumes and explore the project gallery in word. We will also explore creating websites and blogs.  Another exciting thing they will do is work on scratch and other computer programming sites.
